How to get Cinematic Footage with your Android Phone

Your android phone has the ability to create some really stunning cinematic videos. You just need to know how to do it. In this video, I use my Google Pixel XL to capture footage and edit it in Adobe Premiere. It starts with ditching your stock camera app and downloading Open Camera.

Get Open Camera to use features like manual focus, exposure lock and custom bitrates.

When filming in Open Camera, you'll want to shoot in the maximum resolution that your phone is capable of. Use manual focus and exposure lock to keep your camera from automatically changing the settings while you're shooting. Open Camera makes these features really easy to use.

Applying some basic color correction to your videos can let you achieve a more cinematic look.

In premiere, you can apply simple color correction with the Lumetri Color effect. This comes with tons of color presets that you can look through and apply to your footage. You can also crop your video to a 21:9 aspect ration to get the same look that you see in movies.

Follow along the video tutorial and try it out for yourself. Show off your results by tweeting them at me @XDARoni.
