Xiaomi is bringing 3 Google Assistant smart home devices to the U.S.

As we wrap things up with Google I/O 2018, we can see that the Mountain View tech giant has been putting a lot of focus on their virtual assistant. We saw a demonstration of how Google Duplex could work to make reservations and schedule appointments, heard some of Google Assistant's new voices, saw how it can help children to be more polite, and more. It looks like Xiaomi has been keeping their eye on the service as well since the company just announced they're bringing three of their smart home products to the United States and they will all be embedded with Google Assistant.

Over the last couple of weeks, we've heard about Xiaomi's partnership with Three that will enable them to sell their phones in the United Kingdom. They have also confirmed they are expanding to France and Italy by the end of this month, but today we have learned Xiaomi is bringing some of their popular smart home products to the United States as well. The idea of Xiaomi selling more of their products in the U.S. has always been a popular topic within the Android community as most people want an official outlet to purchase their smartphones.

We may be a few more years away from that happening, but the company has continued to work on bringing some of their non-smartphone products here in the meantime. They have just announced the Mi Bedside Lamp, Mi LED Smart Bulb, and the Mi Smart Plug will all be made available in the United States "shortly." We're told the Mi Bedside Lamp will be available later this month, but details about the other two devices have yet to be revealed. We also don't know how much the company will be charging for these devices but we did learn that each of them will support Google Assistant for seamless integration into your current smart home setup.
