I'm a pretty terrible person in general. I don't volunteer, I don't donate to charity, I don't recycle and I pulled the plug on my own Mom against her will. One thing I can do to score some points in my favor in the hopes of getting a ticket into the celestial gates, is donating my old Android phone to a charity.
Now you may be thinking "What could anyone do with my worthless old Android phone?" Well most of the time they'll remove the precious metals from them, melt them down and donate the money to buy calling cards for troops to call home. There's also some great programs which can take your working phone and give t to a women's shelter. Even if your phone doesn't have service it can still dial 911, which makes it perfect for people going through a crisis.
I'll list some of the available charities that you should consider if you're ready to get rid of your old phone.
